IEEB4 Curators

IEEB4l has the privilege of welcoming two important curators, from Austria and Poland, Eva Moseneder and Marta Raczek, responsable with the selection of artists, taking into account the relation between technique and concept, tradition and innovation with the accent on experiment.
Eva Möseneder is an important name in the field of engraving, an artist and remarkable technician coming from the well-known medium of the city of Salzburg, concentrated around the printmaking studio TraklHouse. Marta Raczek is vice-president of the International Printmaking Triennial in Krakow, active curator and art historian, interested in the problematic of contemporary art theories and practices. This curatorial formula is actually based on this particular relation between tradition and experiment, both curators having different experiences and connections to the field of printmaking, but whose interests meet the unifying concept of the Biennial focused on promoting the contemporary dimension of engraving.

For the parallel exhibition Romanian Printmaking Experiment from the ‘70s and ‘80s, the Romanian curator Adrian Guta, important art critic and historian, took the challenge of selecting relevant Romanian artists, active in the 80s, who included in their works experimental printmaking solutions. This exhibition has the purpose of recovering and encouraging the Romanian experiment in graphic art, and also making it better known to the local and international public.
